KUFRI: A Small Hill Station

Kufri is a small hill station located in the Shimla district of HP and is approximately 16 km from the state's capital Shimla and is located 2800 meters above sea level. The best time of visiting Kufri is in winters for people who want to see snow i.e. between December and February (average temperature -5 to 10°C) or in Summers between April and June (average temperature 15 to 25°C).

Kufri Valley

Kufri's name is derived from the word "Kufr" which means "Lake" in the native language.  Kufri, along with Chail and Shimla forms the famous "Golden Triangle of Himachal Pradesh". The yearly winter sports festival is held here in February, which is a major attraction for the tourists. It has an amusement park having a number of enjoyable rides for the kids. This park also features the world’s highest go-kart track – which obviously includes the adults as well.

Another point that is most visited by the tourists is Mahasu Peak situated in Kufri and is also the highest peak of Kufri. The tourists usually visit this peak by riding on horses back to the top of the hill. The view from the top is just mesmerizing.
